Chaseins Scholarship Award

Chase, Clarke, Stewart & Fontana Insurance Agency (chaseins) has been located in Springfield, Massachusetts for nearly 200 years, providing insurance to local businesses and families.  We have  established an annual scholarship fund to recognize academic achievement and volunteerism. We know that good values lead to a strong community.

Ray Beattie, a graduate of Boston College, worked within the insurance industry for most of his career including as producer with Chase, Clarke, Stewart & Fontana Insurance Agency. Ray spent many years working with his clients providing insurance protection and advice meanwhile developing personal relationships with his clients.

Like the attributes that the scholarship recipients uphold, Ray was also active in the community.

He treated everyone he met like family, putting others ahead of himself and being active in the community. Whether Ray was helping neighbors, coaching sports or just lending a hand, advice or a smile to someone in need. Ray took his passions very seriously, but with a side of humor and wit: his family, his profession, education, sports and his friendships. Regardless if Ray was in the office, in his backyard, raising his children or even spending extra time after baseball practice to pitch a few more rounds of batting practice, he did everything 100%. No shortcuts, no questions asked, no excuses – nothing in return, other than showing those around him the impact and influence of a job well done. Ray is proof that one man’s determination, kindness and selflessness can make a difference to those around him. Everyone that met Ray, whether they knew him since his days growing up in Boston or meeting him through his decades of work in Western Mass., will never forget him because of his generosity and infectious smile. Through the Ray Beattie award, he continues to serve as a reminder,, that family, community and education are pillars to a happy and fulfilling life.
